Mekong Green Season River Cruises

South East Asia captivates with its rich culture, historic landmarks, and breathtaking natural beauty. While the dry months from November to March attract many visitors, the Green Season from May to October presents an equally irresistible and unique experience. Throughout the Green Season, temperatures stay consistent with the rest of the year. However when it rains, you can expect brief and refreshing showers that provide a welcome respite from the heat. Travellers often choose other times of the year, mindful that the rains could affect their explorations. However, noticeable weather-related issues are rare, and the benefits of the Green Season make it a worthwhile consideration.

Green and Serene

During the Green Season the fields, flora and rice paddies of the region are nourished with intermittent monsoonal rains. These short bursts of precipitation shape a captivating spectacle, with lush and verdant shades of green abound, bringing a fresh perspective to the Mekong and its surrounds. This serene time of year presents South East Asia in a whole new light, with fewer crowds, rejuvenated landscapes and quiet beauty punctuated by blossoming flowers.

Relax and unwind

From November to April, we offer seven night cruises along the Mekong River on board Scenic Spirit. This means your days are filled with explorations, and the quicker pace of this cruise appeals to many.

However, you also have the option of choosing a nine night meandering version of this cruise during the Green Season. This offers exactly the same ports and itinerary as the seven night cruise, but just takes a little longer so you can relax and appreciate the ultra-luxurious Scenic Spirit.
